Approximately 360 inductees to the Hall have donated personal items. There are also bios on these sports legends, and great history lessons on the role sports has played in the state of North Carolina throughout its history. Plane enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy the views from Observation Park, which overlooks RDU's longest runway. The park is located near the Air Traffic Control Tower and Park and Ride 2. Direct communication from the control tower to pilots can be heard from the elevated lookout area. A playground and picnic tables are nearby.
